Chris Cesar – Movember (Moustache Season)

APEM’s Chris Cesar, Marine Ecologist, has raised more than £60 as part of Movember (November). APEM matched Chris’s total bringing his total to £120 for this worthy cause. Movember is a charity created to raise awareness and fund research into prostate and testicular cancer.

Chris was one of the thousands of men around the world who went through the month of Movember without shaving his top lip.  No doubt this led to many crimes against fashion and good taste. However, we can say that Chris’s moustache looked superb. During the thirty days of Movember he was a walking advertisement for this charity. Chris was inspired to take part in the event after his father contracted cancer two years ago. Thankfully, his father is now returning to full health.

Participants in the event are called Mo Bros (Moustache Brothers). Mo Sistas are the women who support the men in their lives by raising funds and seeking sponsorship for their Mo-growing efforts.

In 2010, over 112,000 UK Mo Bros and Mo Sistas raised £11.7 million for research into these male specific cancers.
