SSSI & SAC Condition Assessments
APEM worked with Natural England (formerly English Nature) to undertake condition assessment surveys on SSSI and SAC rivers and lakes according to the methods for Common Standards Monitoring. The waterbodies are surveyed using standard macrophyte community and habitat assessment methods. The results of the field surveys, along with the expert judgement of the surveyor, are used to assess the condition of each SSSI unit.
