Large-scale Power Stations
APEM have conducted a number of projects for large coastal power plant developments including EIAs. Survey work often includes sampling of intertidal and subtidal invertebrates, macro and microalgae, plankton and fish (including fish within the intertidal zone) using a wide range of sampling equipment and diverse techniques. Specimens are identified in-house within APEM Biolabs. EIAs have involved detailed assessments of fish impingement and entrainment, modelling of thermal plumes and consideration of all aspects of construction, operation and decommissioning.
