Scoping and Feasibility Study For Tidal Power Schemes
APEM has been heavily involved in all of the tidal power studies in the UKto date leading on migratory, estuarine and marine fisheries and marien ecology. As part of a consortium of consultancies we undertook the scoping and feasibility stages of the Severn Tidal Power SEA and are currenlty part of the consultancy team for the Mersey Tidal Power feasibility study.
These studies have included the identification of potential environmental and social impacts for fisheries and marine ecology including assessments of injury/mortality from fish passage, loss/change of habitat and water quality impacts. We have been involved throughout the optioneering phase of both studies identifying prevent harm, mitigation and compensation releases.
