The 2007 apprenticeship scheme has been a great success. Several of the apprentices are staying on with APEM in various roles. Those that are not staying, leave with a wealth of knowledge and experience from their time with APEM.
Ellie Mackay said of her time with APEM...
“The APEM apprenticeship was a great experience, it provided me with the opportunity to learn a wide range of field techniques and work with a great bunch of knowledgeable and skilled people. I have learned a great deal over the past 6 months in areas as diverse as water quality, fisheries, macrophytes and aerial survey. Getting out in the field has to be my favorite aspect of the scheme, with the opportunity to visit beautiful parts of the country, an added bonus to the fieldwork (give or take the odd wet foot)!”
All the apprenticeship vacancies have been filled for 2008 but the apprenticeship scheme will run again in 2009, check back at the start of the year for more information!
