Suberites massa in Poole Harbour
Due to the ongoing redevelopment of the West Quay Road area of Poole, various studies were required to feed into the Environmental Impact Assessment. The site lies on the northern shore of the Blackwater Channel of Poole Harbour and the potential impacts on the aquatic environment within this SSSI had to be considered. We were commissioned to assess the distribution and abundance of the marine sponge suberites massa within the area. An observational survey was conducted by divers in the immediate vicinity of the development site and two control sites.
