APEM's Christmas Celebrations
This Christmas APEM celebrated the end of another very successful year. 2011 was the company’s most successful year to date and January 2nd 2012 is APEM’s 25th birthday.

Staff from all six of APEM’s offices converged in Manchester for a full day of team building exercises and Christmas celebration.
During 2011, the company opened two new offices in Chester and Cardiff and now employs 118 staff across the UK. This growth reflects APEM’s position as the number one aquatic science consultancy in the UK.
The day commenced with a buffet lunch and presentations by the Managing Director, Dr Keith Hendry, and Directors Dr Adrian Williams and Dr Stuart Clough, looking back at the numerous accomplishments of the past year for APEM, and a roundup of how APEM hopes to continue these successes into the future. The final presentation of the afternoon was followed by a Dancing Elves clip of the 3 directors which was greatly received by all, including the directors! (See clip below).

Everyone enjoyed themselves
The presentations were followed by team meetings where everyone had the chance to introduce themselves and their role within the team.
All staff then travelled to the Village Hotel in Cheadle for the Evening’s Christmas Celebrations. The seating plan encouraged integration between different offices and teams, and allowed staff to get to know people they wouldn’t usually interact with in their line of work.
The evening celebrations included a three course meal, Secret Santa gifts and communal singing as well as the Picture of the Year Award presented by Field Scientist Tom House. As there are such great photos taken out in the field, we decided to run the competition and have also created a calendar with them this year as well.

APEM has taken on more than thirty new staff in the past six months and so the whole day was a great opportunity for new staff to meet the rest of the company and put names to faces.
A great evening was had by all and here’s to another successful year for APEM!
