As part of the annual IFM conference held in Oxford last year, APEM donated a free ticket to our corporate hospitality box at Manchester United for the IFM’s raffle.
The raffle raised £500 for the charity Voluntary Services Organisation (VSO). The VSO is the world’s leading independent international development organisation that works through volunteers to fight poverty in developing countries.
The prize was won by Hannah Wright of the Environment Agency; Hannah is also IFM’s Southern Branch secretary. Hannah took her family to the game and made a day of the whole event by staying in Manchester overnight. She also took the opportunity to visit some of Manchester’s sights and go shopping.
The game Hannah went to was a Champions League match against Romania’s, Otelul Galati. The game was a relatively straight forward affair for United who ran out as two nil winners with goals from Antonio Valencia and a deflected last minute goal off defender Cristian Sarghi. The result placed United at the top of Group C with two games to go.
