Amy Anderson - Aquatic Scientist

Hi, my name is Amy Anderson. I started at the Edinburgh APEM office in September as a Junior Aquatic Consultant.
In 2010 I completed my degree in Environmental Geoscience at the University of Edinburgh. It was a very fun and varied course, particularly the fieldwork component which took me everywhere from the drizzly Scottish Isles looking for dinosaur prints to sun-soaked Jamaica to study coral reef ecology.
After graduating, I worked for a year at the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology in the Water Group, where I learned a lot about freshwater ecology and gained invaluable experience in a variety of water quality sampling techniques and analytical procedures.
I have really enjoyed my first few months at APEM. So far, I have mainly been working on the Clyde Oxygenation project and have been lucky enough to spend a few days out on the water collecting samples and getting acquainted with Clyde resident, Stinky the seal!
In my free time I enjoy hill walking, swimming, cycling and baking.
