Eliot has previously worked for Mott Macdonald, The Environment Agency, The Broads Authority and Atkins. Throughout his career he has focused on catchments and water, leading teams to deliver notable projects throughout the UK and Africa.

Consequently, Eliot is very familiar with many of the drivers of environmental work in Ireland, such as the EU’s Water Framework and Habitats Directives, as well as key drivers for Ireland’s future development. including further development of renewable energy production, transport infrastructure and additional improvements to and development of Irish Water’s infrastructure and delivery responsibilities.

APEM has already successfully secured places on framework contracts with Ireland’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Office of Public Works (OPW) and the Electricity Supply Board of Ireland (ESBI). Building on these contracts, and on a number of completed projects including an analysis of Benthic Infaunal for DAERA and digital aerial surveys for The Marine Institute off the east coast of Ireland, Eliot’s role will further enhance APEM’s capabilities and presence in Ireland.

Eliot said: “I very much look forward to the challenge of helping to grow APEM’s already established work here and to further enhance the already excellent name the company has.”

On Eliot’s arrival, APEM CEO, Dr Adrian Williams commented: “Opening a base in Ireland is an exciting and historic day for us. It is a key part of our ambitious growth strategy and allows us to leverage our quality reputation to a wider range of potential clients. Having Eliot on board is fantastic, we’ve known him and his excellent reputation for many years and the whole team is looking forward to welcoming him.”
