APEM’s specialist field team has recently surpassed the £1 million revenue target for 2019, well ahead of schedule. APEM provide marine and freshwater surveys for the water industry, government bodies, NGOs, energy companies, and more.
The field team are currently undertaking aquatic surveys across the UK. They are out on site applying their extensive range of technical and scientific skills. Our field staff have the capacity and flexibility to deploy at short notice and according to climatic conditions – essential for this time of year!
The growth of the team and the range of the commissions undertaken by the team are accelerating in line with the planned expansion of APEM. Earlier this year, APEM were awarded Water Industry Consultant of the Year at the WWT Awards. The presentation of this award reflects the skills and dedication of our field teams as well as our innovative approach and the broad range of services on offer.
APEM also achieved 100% in a recent audit by Achilles. This includes an appraisal of health and safety systems in the field survey department.
These achievements come in the wake of big changes at the company. Earlier this year APEM had a management buyout with support from WestBridge Capital. The company has since welcomed new Chair, Andy Lockwood, and new Finance Director, Nicola Hunter. They will support the management team as they oversee further growth and diversification on an international scale.
Expansion of the company and need for more capacity in the field team, especially in the south, has also resulted in plans to open a new office in Southampton in the next few months. A new specialist aquatic field survey team will be based there in anticipation of further expansion in the freshwater and marine sectors.
Peter Dennis, APEM’s Field Team Divisional Director, says;
“We are delighted by the volume and range of field survey deployments so far in 2019. We have been commissioned to work across the UK from the highlands of Scotland to the moors of Cornwall and you never really know what is coming next. The fact this work has been safely and compliantly delivered is testament to the hard work of the field staff and their commitment to our safety management systems.
The team’s range of skills is being broadened by a new scheme of career development to ensure the aspirations of every team member are valued as the firm expands. I am expecting 2020 to be another busy year and the development of our Southampton team is an exciting next phase in APEM’s growth.”
