APEM delivers a wide range of marine projects across a diverse client base via our in-house fieldwork, laboratory analyses and marine consultancy teams. APEM is expanding and this is an excellent opportunity for high-calibre, motivated and commercially-minded scientists to join our growing marine team with positions available at different grades as follows:

Consultant: You will be responsible for data analysis and interpretation, report production and a wide range of supporting project and tendering work.

Senior Consultant: Your role will include project management (budget and team management), tendering, bringing in new projects and all aspects of project delivery including client liaison, provision of specialist technical advice, survey design, data analysis interpretation and technical reporting.

Principal Consultant: In addition to the above you will have line management responsibilities and a key involvement in developing APEM’s ongoing business strategies.

All grades have opportunities for conference and exhibition attendance/presentation and networking.

About you

You will be an enthusiastic individual with a strong background in marine ecology. Consultancy experience is beneficial for the Consultant role and a proven track record in a consultancy environment is essential at Senior Consultant or Principal level. You will have specialist knowledge and skills to enable you to assist with the management, delivery and technical input to our diverse range of marine ecology projects. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience of technical reporting, effective use of spreadsheets and statistical software will be integral to your role. A working knowledge of the application of relevant UK policy and legislation is desired and experience of Ecological Impact Assessment is beneficial but not essential.

You will be primarily office-based, although site visits, client meetings and fieldwork are likely to be required, which may include overnight stays; therefore, a full driving licence and personal flexibility is essential.
