Fish rescues and removals are a real specialism for APEM’s field teams. So moving over 2,000 fish from Scotland’s historic Union Canal to allow essential maintenance work to proceed was all in a day’s work.

At APEM there is an unexpected connection between fish and Christmas. Our field team uses old Christmas trees to help manage fish numbers at Salford Quays in Manchester.

With a large field team working on extremely varied projects APEM is always on the lookout for highly qualified staff. Perhaps that is why one recent project featured a multinational team drawn five different nations.

While they may come from many different countries, some of our field staff are among the longest serving and most experienced in the company. The head of our field teams, Peter Dennis, joined over 15 years ago and this year picked out the highlights of his time with APEM.
