The high resolution images and 3D models will be used to support route refinement, customer engagement and provide topographical outputs for design and planning.
Keith Walker, Commercial Director for APEM said “We are delighted to have been awarded this project and to be part of an such an important strategic resilience scheme for the region. The scale and level of detail from this survey will be phenomenal and will have far reaching value into the project. It will significantly reduce the amount of time being spent on site as virtual site visits can be performed from a desktop.”
Surveys will be carried out throughout the year as the route of the pipeline is finalised. The images will be converted into a 2D orthomosaic of the entire route and a navigable 3D point cloud with various outputs will be used for design.
